Experimental Report § Comparison of RTV-1 silicone

The deacidification type RTV-1 is called acidic silicone rubber. It’s characterized by better adhesion, faster-curing speed and high transparency(Figure1), but the strong odor and severe corrosion during use are its biggest snag which is rarely used in the electronics industry. Neutral silicone(Figure2)which is characterized by more general adhesion and hardening speed, but the disadvantage is the Oxime molecules released during the hardening process have a slight odor. Although the oxime molecule itself is a neutral compound, it will not be corrosive to metals, but it will chemically react with copper and cause corrosion. If you want to use deoxime type silicone rubber for electronic parts, you need to be careful whether it contains copper metal (Figure 3). The characteristic of dealcoholic type is that the neutral alcohols released during hardening will not have odor and are not corrosive to metals, so it is particularly suitable for use in electronic parts containing copper metals (Figure 4). However, RTV-1 dealcoholic silicone has poor storage, slow curing speed and poor adhesion, so it is necessary to test the manufacturer's manufacturing process.

About Everwide§What happened in Everwide recently?

There are many things going on in April. We are planning to set up an electrical laboratory, which is expected to be completed by the end of June. Customers go to the factory for quality, labor safety and environmental audits (Figure 2). Each group discusses and reports the experience once a week(Figure 3). There were 7 students who had been internshiped to “Everwide” in the summer. We hold interviews for them and shared relevant experiences (Figure 4). A fire drill is held every six months, and Class C protective clothing is actually put on and taken off (Figure 5). Continue to do the right thing, and after years of years, the factory will make significant progress!


Knowledge Sharing § Whether the resin has added solvent?

Reduce the viscosity of epoxy resin with thinner. Regardless of whether it is reactive or not, the thinner will remain in the hardened resin, affecting the characteristics of the resin. Solvent can also be used to reduce the viscosity of the resin, but the solvent will evaporate during the hardening of the resin. Many customers find that the resin is volatile, and the weight changes slightly before and after curing, so they guess that the resin contains a solvent. In fact, this is not necessarily caused by the addition of solvents. Sometimes monomers or diluents with relatively low molecular weight in the resin will have the above characteristics when they are not completely reacted.


Biweekly Story § The visit of students who are from National Formosa University

The University in recent years has encouraged students to get in touch with the industry early. Recalling that it was the same in my college days. During those days, I was always brave enough to try things. From the practice of establishing connections with people, I realized that there are always reasons behind the things. I also feel the hard work of parents to make money. On the day of the visit, students and teachers arrived on the school bus. The visit had to end within 30 minutes, so time control became very crucial. The visit which is included environmental guidance and production process, so we adopted a group approach from Yongkuan Garden, manufacturing, R&D laboratory, instrument room and actual product application... After the conclusion, some colleagues said that they remembered their student days. I think this is the result of mutual rendering between people, which affects the positive and self-examination and insufficient acceptance.
