在許多先進國家的城市中，尤其以交通繁忙、人口密集的地區，由於發展較早，因此管線都約有20%~40%已不堪使用，但在這些區域若要進行開挖地面換管，所投下的資金與時間成本會相當昂貴。台灣各地區的地下水管密度高，在都會區更為明顯，而這些水管也經常發生漏水問題，每天都有大量用水，滲透到地下。為什麼會造成此一現象？因為水管老舊、腐蝕，再加上重力擠壓，使得水管破裂，流失大量用水。
在各個先進國家早已經不使用開挖整個地面，明管更換地下管線的工程，因為此工法對於環境、交通、民眾生活容易造成嚴重影響，再加上開挖地面造成大量的粉塵，對於人體的危害也是一大考量。永寬化學與宇泰豐科技實業股份有限公司共同開發這一系列的下水道更新再生用的工程樹脂，使得下水道的更新能快速、方便。與傳統工法不同的是不用全面挖開需要更新的管線路面，只需要開挖工作井即可進行管線更生的工程。管材本身具有優越的防漏、耐震、耐酸鹼等優點，並且不需完全封閉道路，也大量降低粉塵的產生，對於民眾的影可以降到最低。
