Experiment § UV release adhesive on PET film
Many electronic products will have a protective film before sale to avoid damage to the appearance when being transported, and the customer will tear it off after purchase. In the past, the protective film was attached after the product was completed, but the newly developed process is to integrate the two (Figure 1): First of all, apply UV release adhesive on the PET treated with primer in advance, then cure it. Secondly, apply the cured layer, four-color ink, and finally perform injection molding in the mold. The technical challenge of UV release adhesives is that they cannot contain Silicone, should make the cured layer evenly coated on it, and cannot bleed oil after the process of extension and injection molding. When the protective film is torn off, a small force will separate the two, and the release adhesive should not remain on cured layer to cause pollution. Besides, UV release adhesive we developed does not contain solvents. It needs to be stirred evenly before use, and then applied after standing and defoaming. The cured release force must be matched with UV equipment to make products with stable performance. Activity § Make learning different
In addition to teaching methods of telling and discussing, practical course is also a good choice. A while ago we tried a practical course on composite materials to allow R&D colleagues in different fields to try other unfamiliar experiments. After a brief explanation, they immediately started to do it. Everyone found this arrangement is vivid and interesting (Figure 1&2). In addition to R&D courses, interns also have to attend instrument-related courses during internships, such as basic principles, application operations and precautions, etc. In order to explain more clearly, the lecturer will first lead the intern to visit the instrument, and then explain and operate to demonstrate (Figure 3, 4). Different teaching methods can enhance the fun, and more importantly, let everyone really learn something. Although the test paper or feedback should be written at the end of the course, it is also hoped that colleagues will transform the information into their own knowledge through this process.
Knowledge § What are packaging methods for addition silicone?
The formula of addition silicone contains resin, curing agent, catalyst, inhibitor, reinforcing filler, additives, etc. The common packaging is two-component type, but there are some formulas that make the addition silicone into one-component type. Two-component type is to split resin, catalyst, curing agent and inhibitor into two parts, and then mix them before use. The biggest advantage is the storage stability will be better. One-component type is to mix the above composition with inhibitor or capsule platinum catalyst and store it at lower ambient temperature. Besides, the one-component type exhibits high activity at high temperature, which causes the silicone to cure. Therefore, an advantage of the one-component type is that it is not necessary to mix, but it needs to be stored at low temperature and cured by heating, which is its disadvantage.
Living § A trip without plan
After watching the video about riding motorcycle to go around the island, I sent a message to my friend, "Let's ride!" Thus, we started a trip without plan. We didn't pay attention to the weather forecast, the route, and accommodation was decided just one day before departure. The destination was container house Starbucks in Hualien. Departing from Miaoli at 6 o'clock that morning, the sky was covered with darkness all the way, and the cold air ruthlessly surrounded us. The mood was fear and nervous. It took almost 11 hours to arrive at the destination, and it was 7 p.m at that time. The weather was still not good the next day. After drinking Starbucks, we started the 500 km long march. The azure seascape instantly energized me, and seeing the beauty of nature was the driving force behind my insistence on cycling. Although the long road was often exhausting, the encouragement given by passers-by or riders made me regain my strength and move on.
