Experiment § Film glue products, different applications
When customers use liquid glue, they may encounter the following problems: the glue does not dry because the ratio is incorrect; there is no suitable mixing equipment, so the mixing effect is not good; the work surface is easily contaminated when applying glue, so the environment is messy; heating Glue overflows when hardening, resulting in loss of adhesion
defeat. Sheet glue can reduce the above problems: it appears solid at room temperature, can be cut into appropriate sizes, and can be pasted by tearing off the protective film, without issues of proportioning or stirring (Figure 1). Sheet glue feels like pressure-sensitive glue and is less likely to stain the environment; it does not flow easily when heated and hardened, ensuring sufficient bonding area; the sheet glue itself has a fixed thickness, so the bonding effect is stable (Figure 2).
The customer requested that metal sheets be wrapped around the drum and adhered tightly. When using two-liquid glue for bonding, since the colloid will flow around during the heating process, and the barrel shape makes it challenging to place it at a specific angle, it is difficult to avoid bonding failure caused by loss of glue material (Figure 3). The customer solved this problem after switching to sheet glue application: it is more convenient than glue, heating overflow has been significantly reduced, and the yield rate of finished products has been improved (Figure 4). Activity § Create habits, live healthily and happily
The trend of international labor development is oriented towards supporting work-life balance and promoting physical and mental health. Since 2021, we have implemented friendly measures, provided various activities, and invited colleagues and their relatives to participate, which has received an enthusiastic response (Figure 1-3). The contents include stress relief stretching, outdoor outings, arts and crafts, and activities such as mastering new ideas in the workplace (Figure 4). This year, we also specially produced promotional materials for publicity to introduce the content and significance, release of the itinerary, etc. There are also incentives. If you participate, you will be eligible for the lottery (Figure 5). Colleagues are welcome to participate and expand their horizons in life.
Knowledge § Advantages of fiberglass
The advantages of glass fiber are as follows: 1. The specific strength of glass fiber exceeds that of steel wire and is dozens of times higher than that of bulk glass of the same composition. 2. It has perfect elasticity, with an elongation of about 3%. Compared with the viscoelastic properties of organic fibers, glass fibers have good resistance to creep degeneration. 3. Stable strength below 200oC. 4. It has the characteristics of non-self-ignition and non-combustion-supporting. 5. The linear expansion coefficient is about 5ppm, which is 1/10~1/20 of general resin. 6. It has good water resistance and can maintain consistent strength in humid environments. 7. It resists general organic solvents, bacteria, mold, and insects. 8. Glass fiber is a "non-conductor" with good electrical insulation properties. 9. Low cost: the price is only 1/10~1/20 of carbon fiber.
Living § Hi, my new home in Taiwan!
I am from Vietnam and graduated from the master's degree program of the Department of Chemistry at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. I am currently working as an R&D assistant engineer at Everwide. It is still fresh in my memory. When I set foot on the land of Yunlin Douliu, my first impression was that it was a remote town, but it did not have the hustle and bustle of northern cities such as Hsinchu and Taipei. The solid human touch and friendliness moved me, and I deeply felt the humanistic atmosphere of Taiwan. Although the company is located in an industrial area, most of the means of transportation are motorcycles and cars, and buses are not very developed. People depend on food. Although there were some problems at the beginning, thanks to the help of my colleagues, I can eat instant noodles from my hometown on weekends, which relieves my homesickness. To facilitate the purchase of daily necessities, I decided to buy an electric bicycle, which is also convenient for holiday outings (Figure 1-3).
I feel fortunate to be here in Everwide. I made new friends in the company from Thailand, Indonesia, other countries, and even my fellow countrymen. We often meet on weekends or special holidays (Figure 4 and 5). I learned a lot of knowledge in the company, which opened up new horizons for me to learn and improve my chemistry major and experience. In addition, the dormitory provided by the company is convenient and is a good place for me to rest and relax after I get off work. Gradually, I opened my heart and fell in love with the life here. I love my new home in Taiwan!
