Experiment § PET curing film 9H cracking

Customized products are our advantage in response to the changes in customer needs. The customer originally used Everwide's high-hardness PET GS506 series. Due to the adjustment of the production process (Figure 1), the customer requested that the substrate be baked at 80°C for 24 hours without cracking. However, the film thickness of the high-hardness product is up to 20 μm, and the thicker the material film, the higher the hardness, but the problem of cracking at high temperatures is technically difficult (Figure 2). In addition to the temperature and hardness requirements, the cured film must meet the haze < 1.5% and the hardness must reach 9H/500g. We add highly tough oligomers and different kinds of monomers to the formulation, testing the amount of addition and different proportions. Some materials will appear White foggy due to high haze due to incompatibility issues. Some do not crack, but the hardness does not reach 9H (Figure 3). After repeated coating tests and adhering to substrates, the GS506-7 developed: a transparent appearance, hardness of 9H, and no cracking at high temperatures (Figure 4). You are welcome to contact us for inquiries.

Activity § March of public welfare life

Before Yunlin County Pomegranate Middle School became Yunlin's first experimental science and technology school, Everwide continued participating in related activities. This year, with the joint efforts of teachers and students, the Yunlin County Shiliu Junior High School participated in the national dance competition, allowing 11 children with no dance foundation to achieve "excellent" high scores in basic skills (Figure 1, 2). During the cabbage season, everyone worked together to buy cabbages that farmers had worked hard to grow. They gave them to Douliu High School, Pomegranate Middle School teachers, disadvantaged elderly, and Everwide colleagues so as not to let cabbage rot in the field. The county government also helped other farmers to sell, and we all achieved a beautiful thing together and created a warm story (Figure 3~5). Cabbage can also be made into kimchi, which is refreshing to serve as a side dish!

Knowledge § Why do substrate-wetting agents and defoaming agent conflict with each other?

If the surface tension of the resin is too high or the substrate is oily, the resin will not be able to lay flat on the substrate. The substrate wetting agent will be neatly arranged on the surface of the resin to reduce the surface tension and achieve the purpose of wetting the substrate. This arrangement also appears on the surface of the bubbles, causing the bubbles to stabilize. Defoamers also have low surface tension, but it is incompatible with resins, which will destroy the uniform surface tension of bubbles and achieve the purpose of bubble breaking. Defoaming agents cause uneven surface tension, and substrate wetting agents create uniform low surface tension, so the two conflict.

Living § Reading experience of Murphy's Law

Read Murphy's Law on the weekend. The book explains four things:

1. Nothing will be as simple as it seems. 2. The completion cycle of all tasks will take longer than you expect. 3. If anything has the possibility of going wrong, then there is a great chance of going wrong. 4. If you think something might go wrong, it must go wrong. In this way, Murphy's Law is a pessimistic argument; as long as people are involved, ensuring that every link is not wrong is impossible. The more people involved, the more complex the link, the greater the chance of error. There are two sides to everything, and from another perspective, it also reminds us that when making decisions or dealing with things, we should pay attention to details, make thorough drills and preparatory plans in advance, and minimize potential risks and hidden dangers. This book also introduces a lot of psychology and management-related knowledge to present a simple story. For example, "false consensus bias" discusses the "lack of empathy." The average person measures the things around them by their standards, projects their emotions, and will into them. Very few people put themselves in the other person's position and observe from the other person's perspective. Communication guru Girardi said: "When you think that other people's feelings are as important as your own, a harmonious atmosphere occurs." This sentence inspired me a lot.
