Experiment § Protective coating for UV solvent-free OPP inks

Water-transfer label screen printing uses the pressure generated by a squeegee to make the ink pass through the precision mesh shielded by the screen and print onto the coated object. Finally, a protective coating is applied, which fixes and protects the ink (Figure. 1). Solvent-free UV type protective coatings have many advantages, such as good storage stability, instant drying when exposed to UV light, fast mass production, reduced VOCs emissions, and low residual solvents in the printed matter, which makes them suitable for paper and plastic printing. We have developed the GC268 series for use on paper and OPP film inks with good screen printability, and after UV curing, we can obtain a high-gloss glossy coating (Figure. 2-4). The following is the experimental test of GC268: 1. After the product is coated with OPP film ink, the film is not damaged or scratched by using cotton swabs and wine wipes more than 50 times. 2.Passed the yellowing resistance test of 150 hours of QUV 313nm and 500 hours of QUV 340nm irradiation. We are developing solvent-free UV protective coatings that can be applied to glossy or matte surface PET, SPLL, PVC, etc., welcome to contact us if you are interested. — Author: Miss. Shi-Yu, Fan

Activity § Employee evaluation exam

In recent years, we have gradually introduced employee evaluation exam in all departments. The target is to regularly evaluate the abilities and skills of employee within their job responsibilities, ensure that they can meet job requirements, and the product quality meets standards (Figure 1-3). Before the examination, colleagues will fully review, in addition to personal guidance and read SOP, we will also film the actual operation of the machine to provide a variety of learning methods to increase the convenience and effectiveness of learning (Figure 4-5).

Knowledge § Why does resin will volume shrinkage when it curing?

When the resin is not yet cured, the monomers are far away from each other and the volume is large and the density is low. When the resin is cured, the monomers are connected to each other by bonding through functional groups, and the distance between them becomes shorter, and the volume becomes smaller, so the density becomes higher. Are there any examples where the volume change is so small that expansion occurs? In theory it will. The functional groups of some cyclic ethers will become linear when the ring-opening frame reacts, and the volume of the latter is greater than that of the former. In terms of the change in functional groups, the volume increases. In terms of the distance between the monomers, the volume decreases. The front and back cancel each other, and the shrinkage rate of this material curing is smaller than that of ordinary materials. Having said that, most of these materials are published in academic papers, and there are few examples of commercialization, so they are rarely used in industrial applications.

Living § X Park Aquarium

I visited the X Park Aquarium in Taoyuan. The aquarium is divided into thirteen zones, some of which incorporate innovative audio-visual technologies such as large-scale projection, interaction, and sound and light effects. As soon as I entered the aquarium, I was struck by the huge transparent window, which contained thousands of fish swimming in the water, as if I were under the sea. Move along the circulation route inside the aquarium, we saw that the jellyfish area uses a frameless mirror surface to sprinkle colorful lights on the transparent jellyfish, allowing people to enter the world of kaleidoscopic flowers. The coral area is displayed in a 180℃ panoramic view, with fish swimming among the brightly colored corals. In the penguin area, there are cute penguins playing in the water, and some will interact with people close to the glass, which is cute and interesting. The aquarium contains not only marine life but also unique animals of the rainforest in the land area, such as Tupinambis rufescens, tree frogs, and Dendrobates azureus. In the sky, there are toucans and chestnut-winged eagles. This trip helped me to learn more about many animals and the ecological environment, and I also deeply felt the beauty and fragility of nature strengthened my determination to work for environmental protection.—Author: Miss.
