Experiment § Epoxy Cationic Balancing Adhesives

In recent years, electronic products have continued to develop toward higher reliability and miniaturization, leading to increasing demand for balancing adhesives. These adhesives are widely used in cooling fans, motor rotors, and precision rotating components (Fig. 1). Their primary function is to correct weight deviation, reduce vibration and noise during operation, and improve overall stability and service life. In response to market demand, in addition to developing acrylic-type UV-curable balancing adhesives, we have also introduced epoxy cationic systems featuring pure UV curing and UV + 70°C thermal dual-curing technologies. Epoxy cationic systems provide good thrust strength and adhesion on engineering plastics such as PBT, PPE, and PPS, making them suitable for high-reliability applications. Currently, the main challenge for UV-curable balancing adhesives is curing depth. In general, products with a specific gravity below 2 can adopt pure UV curing. When the specific gravity exceeds 2, increased filler content affects UV penetration; therefore, UV + thermal curing is recommended to ensure complete curing (Fig. 2). Taking FR543-6 as an example, with a specific gravity of 2.0, a curing depth of approximately 2 mm can be achieved under conditions of 365 nm and 12000 mJ/cm². For applications requiring higher balancing weight and deep grooves (Fig. 3), the FR543-9 series with a specific gravity of 3.0 is also available. The adhesive is first temporarily fixed by UV curing, can withstand balance verification at 5000 rpm / 1 min, and is finally thermally cured at 70°C (Fig. 4).

About Us § Annual Health Examination

We conduct annual health examinations to monitor employees’ health status. In response to changes in modern lifestyles, metabolic diseases and endocrine-related abnormalities have become increasingly common. Conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and thyroid disorders are also showing a trend toward younger onset. Therefore, additional related screening items have been introduced. In addition, gender-specific ultrasound examinations have been added to better meet practical needs, with the aim of identifying potential health risks at an early stage. Following the examinations, healthcare professionals will be arranged to visit the site to provide report explanations and health education consultations for employees who require them.

Knowledge § What Types of Acrylic Adhesives Are There? (3)

In addition to UV adhesives, which rely on photoinitiators to drive the reaction, anaerobic adhesives, two-part acrylic (red/blue) adhesives, and two-component structural adhesives all rely on peroxides that decompose upon contact with catalysts. This decomposition generates free radicals that initiate polymerization. The difference among these adhesive systems lies mainly in the placement of the catalyst. Taking anaerobic adhesives as an example, the peroxide is incorporated within the resin, while the catalyst is either metal ions naturally formed on the metal substrate being bonded or a primer containing metal ions applied to the surface of the substrate. For two-part acrylic (red/blue) adhesives and two-component structural adhesives, the peroxide and catalyst are separately stored in components A and B. When mixed, the two components come into contact, causing decomposition of the peroxide and thereby initiating the curing reaction.

Living § Sharing a Useful Book

I would like to share a good book, Data Engineering Foundations. Part of my work involves data organization, where I classify raw materials in the company’s pharmaceutical warehouse and complete key numerical, physical, and chemical property data for each item. The goal is to build structured information that supports R&D, which requires careful collection and verification. The workflow follows a gradual structure: master raw data table → category-based worksheets → supplier-based worksheets. After the initial structure is built, data is supplemented through online searches and internal confirmations, then reviewed by senior colleagues and updated with support from warehouse staff. I originally had no clear direction on how to organize data. Later, I spent time at Eslite Spectrum Park Lane in Taichung and found this book (Fig. 1, 2), which I then purchased for study. Although the content seems simple, it was challenging without a related background. I therefore adopted a step-by-step learning approach, using AI tools to clarify unfamiliar terms and repeatedly confirm understanding, leaving detailed notes throughout (Fig. 3). I hope to continue completing the book, and am encouraged by the message: “In an ideal world, you are a curious and eager learner—otherwise, why would you be reading this book?”
