Experiment § Edge Sealant for Flexible Electrochromic (EC) Applications

Electrochromism (EC) technology enables conductive glass or plastic to reversibly change color and light transmittance when electrically powered. For example, when the electrochromic windows of the Boeing 787 or smart energy-saving windows are powered, the glass becomes opaque, blocking ultraviolet rays and heat sources. This can reduce electricity consumption while also protecting privacy. The outermost layer of an electrochromic device is a transparent conductive substrate. Conductive glass is used when a rigid structure is required, while conductive plastic is used when flexibility and lightweight properties are needed. The upper and lower transparent conductive substrates are bonded along the edges with frame sealant (Figure 1). We have developed the FJ016 Series edge sealant for flexible electrochromic applications. After curing, it offers high transparency and flexibility (Figure 2) and does not crack under large-angle bending (Figure 3). Its low shrinkage rate (<2%) helps prevent curling and deformation at the edges of plastic films while improving interface adhesion and durability. It can also be thermally cured at a low temperature of 80°C or through UV/heat dual curing, with a reaction rate close to 100%. Its water absorption is <0.5% under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions (85°C / 85% RH / 24 hr), helping prevent moisture from causing electrochromic device failure. About Us § Going Green with Renewable Energy

Since 2019, we have gradually installed solar power generation systems at our plants. From equipment planning and panel installation to meter setup and stable power generation, we have invested significant effort and resources at every stage.Currently, 28% of the total electricity consumption at Yong Kuan Plants 1 and 2 comes from solar power, representing the gradual integration of green energy into daily operations. To formally recognize our self-generated green electricity, we began applying for renewable energy certificates at the end of 2025. After rigorous data preparation, verification, and review, we officially obtained the certificate in July this year.
Knowledge § Why Is the Surface of an Anaerobic Adhesive Sticky?
The curing mechanism of an anaerobic adhesive is based on free-radical polymerization of the acrylic double bonds. During the free-radical polymerization process, exposure to oxygen in the air causes the radicals to react with oxygen and form peroxy radicals. These radicals polymerize very slowly, causing the polymerization reaction to stop and leaving the surface sticky to the touch. Anaerobic adhesives are commonly used for threadlocking applications, where the exposed surface area is very small. As a result, surface tackiness is usually not noticeable. Some anaerobic adhesives are used for motor magnet bonding. Under centrifugal force during motor rotation and at elevated temperatures, the sticky surface components may be thrown out from the bonding gap. In such applications, whether the adhesive is affected by oxygen and whether the surface becomes sticky become important issues.
Living § A Golden Sunset Adventure in Penghu

Early in the morning, we boarded the fishing boat “King Bada 88” and set off on our golden sunset adventure on Penghu’s twin islands. Our whole family had an absolute blast that day, and our laughter nearly filled the entire boat. I secretly took a photo of my older son leaning against an art installation with a cool look in his eyes. I couldn’t help but smile and think, “Wow, my son has grown up so handsome!” One of my funniest photos was me placing a green leaf on the bridge of my nose like a “pig nose,” laughing until my eyes nearly disappeared, with the sunny harbor in the background. My two sons also joined in the fun in front of the “Chasing the Sun in the Wind” rock, while my husband raised both hands in the air. The most energetic moment was watching my sons run along the trail at sunset, with the sun shining behind them as if giving them the perfect spotlight. At that moment, I just wanted to shout, “This is what youth is all about!”. Standing in front of the 23.5° Tropic of Cancer landmark at Hujing Island, with basalt columns and the endless ocean behind us, we took a family photo with our brightest smiles. Climbing up the stone steps, we were surrounded by castle-like columnar rocks and cute cacti. The sea breeze was strong, but we were in an incredibly good mood.
