Experiment § Power Module encapsulation

As technology advances, electronic parts improve to high density and high performance, integrating many functional components into a single module. In the case of power modules, DC-DC, DC-AC, or AC-DC converters with capacitors, resistors, diodes,transistors, etc. are integrated together and then mounted on the system's circuit board. Mainly used in frequency converters, drivers, converters, power supplies, and other equipment, used in solar energy, wind power generation equipment, electric vehicles, inverter appliances, and other fields (Figure 1). In the hot market of electric vehicles, the voltage of the power module has been increased from 600 V to more than 1,200 V, and the maximum operating temperature of the chip has been increased from 150˚C to 200˚C. So the form of encapsulation needs to change: Figure 2 is a more traditional, low-power encapsulation method that utilizes silicone to avoid stress and poor heat dissipation. High-power designs such as Figure 3 can be used for superchargers. In response to high-power designs, encapsulation materials must also emphasize high heat resistance, low shrinkage, and high thermal conductivity. Everwide has developed a suitable filling glue with a glass transfer temperature (Tg) > 200°C, a coefficient of thermal expansion of 15-18 ppm, a coefficient of thermal conductivity of >1W/mK, and a viscosity of <6,000 cps at 60°C. This material has good processability and excellent physical properties after curing and passes stringent tests, we welcome your inquiries.

Activity § Selection of the Man of the Hour

At the end of every year, the most popular event in the company is the selection of " Popular person ". First of all, according to the position is divided into a manufacturing group, an administrative group, and a research and development group, each group is nominated by colleagues freely, and the reason for nomination is written on the ballot paper. The top three are selected for each group at this stage. In the second stage, the colleagues of the whole company will vote for the character representatives of each group. The selected person may be "good at communication, humble, courteous and helpful", "utilizing one's own strengths and making continuous progress and improvement", "assisting others in solving problems and helping the company to grow", and "taking the initiative to take on more responsibilities and face work with a positive attitude". By voting for good colleagues, a consensus can be forged, and the selected " Popular person " can also designate public welfare units to be donated by the company. That said, everyone has a substantial influence on their surroundings, such as helping others to solve their problems, treating each other with kindness, and creating an ideal work environment, and everyone can be " Popular person " (Figures 1~3).

 

Knowledge § How to reduce the coefficient of thermal expansion of resin? (2)

In the above example, crystallized quartz powder with a coefficient of thermal expansion of 15 ppm is replaced by fused silica powder with a coefficient of thermal expansion of 0.5 ppm, the coefficients of thermal expansion of the resin and the quartz powder in the ratios of 30/70 by weight to 20/80 by weight (equivalent to a volume ratio of 45/55 by volume to 32/68) and the coefficients of thermal expansion of the resin and quartz powder will be about 36 ppm and 26 ppm, respectively, which can be lowered by another 10 ppm. Inorganic powders with a coefficient of thermal expansion of -3 ppm and a specific gravity of 3.9 have been developed and marketed.This powder shrinks when the temperature rises. If the resin is mixed with this powder at a weight ratio of 30/70 (volume ratio of 58/42), the coefficient of thermal expansion of the mixture is not particularly low, being about 45 ppm. Dramatic reductions in the coefficient of expansion are not easy to achieve, as this property is dependent on volume rather than weight. Even with the addition of large amounts of inorganic powder to the resin formulation, there was no improvement in the volume ratio due to the high specific gravity of the latter.

 

Living § Beautiful night view of Gukeng township

Gukeng township in Yunlin County also has cherry blossoms. In addition, there is also the most famous coffee in Gukeng. It is definitely a great enjoyment of life to come here on holidays to walk around, have a cup of coffee, breathe in the fresh air of the mountains.
