Experiment § Phenolic issues

Many countries have begun to pay attention to the issue of phenols, believing that phenols are environmental hormones that will affect the ecology, and restrictions on bans and restrictions have started to appear. It is well-known that Nonyl phenols are restricted in industry and the residue of Bisphenol A on food containers. Advanced countries such as the United States and Japan gradually reduced the use of phenols in the early years. Canada announced that bisphenol A was a poison a while ago and attracted attention. In the formulation of epoxy resins, amine hardeners are most likely to contain phenolic components because phenols are accelerators for amine hardeners. On the raw materials of epoxy resin in Japan, the labeling of phenols is quite representative, and there are two common ones:

1. "フェノールフリー," which means "Phenol free" in English, and "不含苯酚" in Chinese. To be precise, this product may have nonylphenol, bisphenol A, or other phenolic structures, but there is no simple phenol as a small molecule. Phenol may be the raw material for producing this product, but phenol will react entirely and not remain in the final product. Since phenol is classified as a highly toxic substance in some countries, it is declared that "フェノールフリー" listed as a feature of the product.

2. "None-フェノール," its English is "None-phenols," Chinese can be understood as "不含酚類." Many chemical species belong to phenols. In addition to phenol, other common nonylphenols, bisphenol A, phenolic resins, and even those with a phenolic structure are counted. Phenols are often mixed in amine hardeners and used as catalysts. The declaration of "None-Funner" means that this product uses other methods to accelerate the reaction rate.

Phenols are widely used in industry, and their impact on the environment is also related to whether they will be released. In the future, which types of phenols are restricted for use, how broad the restriction is, and the progress of developing alternatives requires our continuous attention.

Activity § Multifunctional moisture-curing adhesive products

Over the years, Everwide Chemical’s products have been mainly light-hardening resins and epoxy resins, and the scope of application covers the general industrial and technological electronics industries. Everwide has always hoped to develop moisture-hardening products. After two years of research and development, it finally officially launched a multi-functional moisture-hardening resin this year. This product is produced with imported materials, and a unique domestic production process developed by itself and has been verified by various environmental tests in the factory.

The primary raw materials of this type of product are as follows:

  1. PU structure, the best adhesion, faster curing, higher tensile strength.

  2. PA (acrylic) structure, high Tg, high-temperature resistance, and good chemical resistance.

  3. PPG structure, low Tg (-60°C), high elasticity, and flexibility under low-temperature environment. In addition to the above differences, the products have good water resistance, high and low cycle test resistance, and will not crack or fall off.

This series of products are suitable for bonding and covering the following materials:

  1. Metals, such as steel, aluminum, copper, zinc, iron.

  2. Plastics include PC, ABS, PMMA, PS, Nylon, and FRP.

  3. Rubber, such as: EPDM, NBR, SBR, NR, CR, CSM.

  4. Others include glass, stone, wood, mica, ceramics, quartz, etc.

Knowledge § What are the functions of reinforcing materials in composite materials?

The resin in the polymer composite is called the matrix, and the fiber is called the reinforcement. The functions of reinforcing materials in composite materials are as follows:

1. Withstand the stress of the composite material; 2. Prevent the growth of microcracks; 3. Control the mechanical properties of the composite material; 4. Improve the creep resistance and fatigue resistance of the composite material.

Living § The third plant foundation grouting

The foundation of our third factory is a raft foundation. The foundation's steel bars were tied up on October 16th, and grouting started early in the morning on the 17th and was completed at about 2 p.m. This photo was taken at noon. The first on the right is a quality control staff from domestic industry, the second on the right is Xiao Yang, the owner of a construction factory, and the second on the left is Uncle Zhou from Taipei.

Uncle Zhou and his second son A Bin supervised our first and second factories. Later, A Bin, unfortunately, died of myocardial infarction, so in our third plant, only Uncle Zhou was responsible for supervising our construction. Uncle Zhou came to the construction site on the 16th to check whether the steel bars' density, quantity, and construction method were up to the standard. After chatting with me for a long time, he always lamented that if A Bin was built, how good would it be to come and chat with us? Regarding this topic, I really can't comfort this elder.

Uncle Zhou told me that he had a cataract. The left-eye doctor had declared that there was no way to treat it. There was a big black shadow in the middle of the thing, and the surrounding images were distorted. The doctor asked him to take care of his right eye with all his strength, but the vision in the right eye was also suspected of declining, and now he couldn't see farthings. Uncle Zhou sighed and said that he hoped to help us build the house within one year, and I'm afraid it will be invisible after one year. It may be the last supervised house in his life.

There are many "last times" in our lives, but we don't necessarily pay attention when it happens. For example, the last time I spent the summer vacation as a student, the last time I entered the camp as a soldier, etc. For these "last time" impressions, some are confused and sometimes feel slightly sentimental afterward.

For this article, I would like to thank Uncle Zhou, A Bin, Xiao Yang, A Tim, A Xing, and other teams for their dedication to Everwide's factory construction over the past ten years.

At the same time, I wish everyone good health and safety, because we still have many factories to trouble, everyone, to build.
