Experiment § High hardness sheet rubber

Everwide Chemical successfully developed a high-strength adhesive sheet for aluminum/composite materials this year (Figure 1). The shear strength of its aluminum/aluminum substrate can reach 200kgf/cm2, which is equivalent to the performance of general epoxy resin adhesives. Now it has developed a high-hardness sheet rubber (as shown in Figure 2), which has the characteristics of surface friction resistance. This product must have sufficient hardness to resist the friction loss of the substrate.

However, in research and development, we found that the product has surface unevenness and depression. It may be because air is also covered on the product surface and the substrate when the adhesive is attached, which causes the surface to be uneven after hardening. After the experiment, we reduced the initial viscosity of the sheet glue so that the coated air could be easily drawn out from the gap. At present, the hardness of this product can reach a pencil hardness of 9H, and its hardness and viscosity can maintain good stability.

Activity § Foam material

Riding a bike in the earth is a great joy in life, but if you experience pain in your buttocks during the trip, such as sitting on needles or broken skin on the inner thighs, it will not only be a disappointment, but it will also cause harm to your body. How to ride healthy, comfortable, and happy? A seat cushion suitable for your riding style is indispensable.

At this year's Electronics Fair, Everwide Chemical launched a foaming material that resembles a memory pillow, allowing your ass clothes to fit snugly with the chair cushion. This series is a single-liquid foaming agent, and it is developed for bicycle products and other foaming materials that require low density and soft and hard requirements. It is usable for composite internal support or hot-press foaming to form an overall structure of microbubbles. After adjustment, the density of the foam material can be changed, and the hardness can also be adjusted according to needs.

This product has lightweight, good operability, and its molding and construction are very simple and convenient. Its foaming time is short, effectively reducing the damage caused by temperature to the object. This system has good toughness after hardening, and the hardened product is light in weight and high in hardness, which can be adapted to the use of generic products.

Knowledge § What are the factors that affect the stability of single-component epoxy resin? How to improve?

1. The hardener absorbs moisture. The moisture absorption of the hardener will shorten the shelf life of the single-component epoxy product. Pay attention to the humidity of the storage environment.

2. The type of thinner. Most thinners will reduce the reactivity of single-component epoxy hardening and cause viscosity instability during storage. The lower the hardening temperature of the single-liquid epoxy is, the more susceptible it is. The choice of diluent should be considered at the early stage of formulation design.

3. The storage temperature of the finished product. Generally speaking, the lower the temperature, the more stable it is, but you must be careful about the possibility of crystallization of the resin.

4. The composition of the resin. Some resins contain polyol structure (such as glycerin), which will cause gelation of the low-temperature hardening system. Some resins contain alkali, which will cause the instability of cationic polymerization; some resins contain too high chlorine content, which will affect the alkalinity efficiency of catalysts (such as Imidazole).

5. Precipitation or floating occurs. In resin formulations with lower viscosity, the components of the hardener often precipitate or float, resulting in poor hardening performance of the finished product. Given this phenomenon, adding some anti-sagging agent may solve it.

6. The hardener particle size is too large. The particles of some hardeners are too large and thick, which are not for the grade made by the epoxy resin industry, and will cause uneven hardening. Special attention should be paid to the effect of grinding and dispersion when using this type of hardener.

7. Bleeding. Many single-component epoxy applications are applied to very thin coatings, and the surface or the top edge will not dry in the very thin slits. This kind of phenomenon is because the components of the resin liquid will diffuse forward, and the solid hardener part cannot diffuse forward in equal proportions, resulting in the leading edge is not dry or hardening being poor.

 

Living § China with soaring prices

I have traveled to Dongguan and Shanghai on business in recent years and have deeply felt the fluctuations in China's prices. In 2007, my friend's factory in Dongguan used 7 RMB per person to outsource three meals a day to the central kitchen and asked for additional meals once a week. But in three years, the food cost in Dongguan has now become 17 RMB a day. The last time I went to Shanghai on a business trip, my friend said that a cup of Starbucks in Shanghai was asking for 35 RMB, which is more than 150 Taiwan dollars. It is more expensive than Taiwan Starbucks. There is also Ajisen Ramen. I tried it at the Hong Kong Airport. I thought that it was expensive because of the high rent. This time I went to Shunde and try it again. The cheapest ramen was 21 RMB. For the worker, the price is too high, but the business of these stores is still perfect, which shows that the gap between the rich and the poor in China is severe. Food is so expensive, and real estate is even more expensive.

For Taiwan's industries, it is necessary to pay attention to China's soaring prices, which will inevitably increase the basic wages of laborers and cause a heavy burden on enterprises. As a result, not competitive industries will be eliminated, and customers with the best physiques and the most demanding will remain. In the face of this kind of market change, we must work hard to move forward, continuously improve research and development technology, enhance product value, give customers the best products and services.
